Today almost every enterprise has passed the stage of computerization. Successful work of the company first of all depends on the organization of various stages of the process. For the most efficient conduct of business, many owners of companies use different methods of business automation.
At stable work and continuous development, system integration becomes relevant. System integration is a combination of separate automated processes and management tools, which involves not only the use of existing systems, but also the creation of new ones.
System integration includes a certain set of works, the result of which will be the information and communication infrastructure of the organization. It is possible to distinguish three stages of integration.
- The first stage is the construction of the passive part. This includes the installation of necessary equipment and the creation of a technical corporate network. Until recently, many enterprises were creating a cable network. Then, advanced options were used. Each replacement stopped production because it was related to the laying of cables, their connection, etc. Today’s standards are designed to build a more durable and indispensable passive network. To do this, use products that meet the group of standards ANSI/EIA/TIA.
- The second stage of system integration includes the selection of network equipment to create IT infrastructure. The main criteria for the selection of equipment – scalability and flexible hardware, which can be complemented by new modules as the enterprise grows. It should be noted that today it is profitable to build a network that combines not only computers. Passive part of the system integration can serve to create a separate telephone network. And with the use of IP-telephony, it can be built even without the PBX. In turn, the active network equipment must meet a number of criteria and standards. It must be of high quality, durable, reliable and protected. In addition, the equipment must support the latest versions of modern software. Today, there are two giants of this sphere on the market of products for system integration – Cisco and Microsoft.
- The final stage is the installation of the necessary software. It includes Internet servers, office applications, databases for data storage, document management systems. This is only the minimum set. For each enterprise the list of necessary programs and applications is selected individually, depending on the sphere of activity and needs of the organization.
The main feature of system integration is the construction of IT infrastructure based on already functioning systems and applications. However, when analyzing the existing infrastructure it is possible to replace outdated applications, as well as to create new subsystems that combine overlapping information in different areas of the company.
As a simple example of an organization that does business with the help of system integration, you can take any large stationary supermarket that has an online version of the store. Thanks to communicating programs you can see the presence or absence of goods, order a product, track the status of the order.
Automation of business processes leads to the reduction of costs for the maintenance of a large number of staff, saving time, as well as increasing turnover. So it outsourcing services have become very popular and today you can already find many specialized companies that are ready to help you with various issues. You can use these services to optimize your own internal business processes.
